United Group (UG) is donating medical equipment and cash worth a total of US$ 3 million toward the fight against COVID-19 in seven countries of the region, with $400,000 going to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the UG Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Dragica Pilipovic Chaffey, told N1.
UG, the leading multi-play telecoms and media provider in South East Europe, operates in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria and has reached agreements with the COVID-19 government task forces in those countries on how the donation will be implemented.

Pilipovic Chaffey said that some countries asked for cash while others prefered equipment.
“In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Crisis Headquarters said it would be most suitable for them if we would give them the money and they will figure out how to spend it most efficiently,” she said.
“We have set $400,000 aside for Bosnia and Herzegovina and we have informed the Crisis Headquarters and the Government that it’s available to them,” she said, adding that the money will be spent across the country.
United Group helped provide Internet and equipment for schools to enable online education while schools are closed due to the pandemic, she said, adding that the company has also unlocked all of its cable channels it was permitted to and provided its services to hospitals during the coronavirus crisis.
