Anel Ahmedhodzic, Bosnia national team player and a member of Sheffield United, which was recently promoted back to Premier League, spoke exclusively to N1, unveiling less known details from his childhood and growing up in Sweden. He also spoke about his future career plans.

Junior team of FC Malmo was his stepping stone, and he started building up his career as a 15-year-old in Nottingham Forest. Speaking to N1's Semir Mustafic, Ahmedhodzic unveiled who would he like to play with one day.

“When I was younger, right before (Edin) Dzeko came to Manchester City, I would say Barcelona. But now, after I started following (Manchester) City, I say it is Manchester,” said Ahmedhodzic, answering the question about a team he would like to play for one day.

A few details from early life speak about his admiration for Bosnia team's captain Dzeko.

“When I was in school, when we had to take those professional photos. Everyone was wearing some nice clothes and I was wearing Manchester City jersey with Dzeko's name. Everyone had a school memory in their nice clothes, and mine was in Edin Dzeko's jersey. Some were laughing, and some said that's how it had to be,” he said.

Ahmedhodzic already played against ‘The Citizens’ this season in FA Cup. His job was to keep an eye on one of the best strikers of today, Erling Haaland.

“We were defending throughout the game, so it wasn't difficult to keep an eye on him. But I could only imagine how it would be if we had played pressing then it would have been more difficult. We should have blocked Mahrez more because he scored three goals.”

As for his future career goals, Ahmedhodzic said:

“There is a lot of interest. I can't reveal anything, but they are clubs from the Big Five. It would be foolish to leave Sheffield United. I fought all season to bring the club to the Premier League. It wouldn't be wise to leave now. Everything can change.”
