An art installation under the name “Every Hour 9 Innocents” was set up on the square in front of the National Theater in downtown Sarajevo to raise awareness about the civilian victims of the ongoing war in Gaza.

According to the organizers, “it is devastating that in the 21st century, the world stands by and watches the killing of innocent civilians, mostly women and children”.

The installation includes a toy, a teddy bear with red colour sprayed over it, which symbolizes the blood that children in Gaza see every day. It points out the consequences that the war will surely leave on the children’s mental health. A children's toy that was meant as a symbol of joy and carelessness has now become a symbol of suffering and loss.

This installation will remain in downtown Sarajevo for the next 15 days and all passers-by can leave their messages calling for a ceasefire in Gaza at the site.
