Average net salary in Federation of BiH rises to 1,590 marks in May 2025

The average monthly net salary paid in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) in May 2025 amounted to 1,590 Bosnian marks (approximately €813), marking a nominal increase of 0.4% and a real increase of 0.3% compared to April 2025.

Year-on-year, the average net salary in May 2025 was 14.9% higher in nominal terms and 11.3% higher in real terms.
The sectors that saw the most significant month-to-month growth in net wages were Accommodation and Food Service Activities (up by 3.1%), followed by Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities, Transportation and Storage, and Financial and Insurance Activities, each up by 2.8%.
Conversely, the largest decreases were recorded in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (down 2.7%) and the Information and Communication sector (down 2.6%).

The average gross salary for May 2025 in FBiH was 2,480 marks (approximately €1,269), reflecting a nominal increase of 0.3% and a real increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month. Compared to May 2024, the gross salary was up by 14.8% nominally and 11.3% in real terms.
The total number of employed persons in FBiH stood at 546,452 in May 2025, representing a 0.2% increase compared to April.
