The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Becirovic, received a delegation from the French Senate's France-Western Balkans Friendship Group, led by its chair, Senator Marta de Cidrac.

Chairman Becirovic, while welcoming the French senators, noted that the overall relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and France are positive and friendly. He expressed gratitude for France's support in all areas, particularly in the decision to start accession negotiations with the European Union. The meeting also addressed the adoption of a resolution recognizing July 11 as an international day of remembrance for the genocide in Srebrenica, which occurred in 1995. Becirovic highlighted that the adoption of the resolution in the UN General Assembly would emphasize the global importance of genocide prevention. He mentioned that its adoption would contribute to building sustainable peace and encourage the process of justice, truth, and trust in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan region.

During the conversation, Senator Marta de Cidrac underlined that France supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. It was stated that France, as a witness to the Dayton Peace Agreement, will continue to support the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
