The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Becirovic, responded to recent statements by Serbia’s President, saying that Aleksandar Vucic was the closest associate of convicted war criminal Vojislav Seselj and that he “showed once again that he changed his rhetoric, but never changed his essential policy”. “The final verdicts of the highest courts of the United Nations (the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia) confirmed that genocide was committed against Bosniaks in the UN safe zone of Srebrenica. These are court judgments that cannot be erased from the history of mankind. The highest courts of the UN have passed final verdicts and no political spin of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, can erase that. As the president of a country that is a member of the UN, he has the obligation to respect the judgments of the UN courts”, said Becirovic.
He said that Vucic is “obviously nervous because the whole civilized world understands his manipulative strategy and tactics”.
“Let's not forget, we are talking about the closest associate of convicted criminal Vojislav Seselj for decades, a participant in the barbaric siege of Sarajevo and the author of the dark statement “for one Serb, we will kill 100 Muslims”. He is the last person who should be lecturing anyone in the region. My advocacy for civilizational values, truth and justice, which is based on facts and arguments, cannot be stopped by insults and untruths”, Becirovic said.
He said that Vucic “has shown once again that he has changed his rhetoric, but never changed his substantive policy”.
“Unlike him, I continue to advocate even more strongly for respect for the elementary norms of international law and civilizational values,” said Becirovic.
Becirovic said recently that Vucic was “the main problem” for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This prompted Vucic to call Becirovic a “petty liar”.
