A German expert on the Western Balkans and NATO enlargement, Milan Nic, announced that the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, confirmed that Montenegro will vote in favor of the UN Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide, but will not co-sponsor it.

Nic, who is a member of the German Council on Foreign Relations, had the opportunity to speak with Spajic in Berlin today.

“I had the opportunity to ask Spajic about Montenegro's path toward the EU—whether it's better to go alone or in a smaller group. I was also interested in how he balances the fragile parliamentary majority with the principles of those in power, as well as his and the government's stance on the proposed UN Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide,” Nic said, as reported by RTCG.

Dozens of non-governmental organizations and public figures in Montenegro have asked the government to co-sponsor the Resolution, a request supported by most of the opposition in the Montenegrin parliament.
