The fire is burning in difficult and inaccessible terrain. On Monday, the crew of the BiH AF 1st Helicopter Squadron spent four hours fighting the fire in the area, dropping 41,000 liters of water. Early this morning, from 5:30 to 7:30 am, it made 29 drops of 1,000 liters of water each.

Due to the need for further firefighting, the helicopter was dispatched for a second operation from 8:15 to 10:15 am, during which it made 24 water drops. The fire is under control, but due to the length of the fire line, further aerial firefighting operations are expected in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the BiH AF 2nd Helicopter Squadron made 100 water drops over the fire site in the Cazin area on Monday, releasing a total of 100,000 liters of water. The fire was subsequently extinguished, so there was no need to deploy a helicopter to Cazin again today.

The pilots of the BiH AF Air Force and Air Defense Brigade remain ready to respond in highly challenging flying conditions. The Ministry of Defense's Public Relations Office also highlighted the quality of the new firefighting bucket, with a capacity of approximately 1,000 liters, with which the BiH AF's UH-1H-II helicopters are equipped.
