Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Constitutional Court said that the amendments to the FBiH Constitution and the changes to the BiH Election Law imposed by High Representative Christian Schmidt on October 1, are in accordance with the country’s Constitution and Article 1 of Protocol No. 12 to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the articles of the International Convention on the abolition of all forms of racial discrimination and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina made this decision ruling on the request of BiH Presidency member Zeljko Komsic and Sefik Dzaferovic, who served as the Chairman of the BiH Presidency at the time of submitting the request for the evaluation of the constitutionality of amendments to the Constitution of the Federation (FBiH) entity and amendments to Bosnia’s Election Law, which was announced on October 2 last year by the High Representative.

The decision will be published after the judges who announced separate opinions submit their opinions, and no later than within 15 days, in accordance with Article 43 of the Rules of the Constitutional Court of BiH.
