BiH Presidency members Denis Becirovic and Zeljka Cvijanovic spoke Wednesday with the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Norway, Bjorn Arild Gram, about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the cooperation between the two countries.
Presidency member Becirovic, thanked Norway for its support to Bosnia on its way to full membership in the EU and NATO.
He emphasized the importance of the role of the Embassy of Norway, which since January 2023 has been the contact embassy in BiH for cooperation with NATO and an important partner.
Norway also helped establish and operate the Peace Support Operations Training Center (PSOTC) and supported gender equality projects, prevention of violence in war conflicts, the process of military mine clearance, and the intelligence and security sector including cyber security.
Becirovic noted the great importance of the implementation of the NATO initiative to build BiH's defence capabilities, which is also concrete support for the implementation of the Plan for the Development and Modernization of the Armed Forces of BiH, as well as a contribution to overall security and stability in the country.
Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said that Norway supports the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH and pointed out that Norway supports BiH on its Euro-Atlantic path through the Bilateral Defense Cooperation Plan, which is signed annually.
Apart from Becirovic and Cvijanovic, the meeting was attended by Sifet Podzic, the adviser to the BiH Presidency Chairman, Zeljko Komsic.
