Bosnia and Herzegovina striker Haris Tabakovic close to RB Salzburg move

According to N1 sources, the 32-year-old striker is close to joining Austrian side RB Salzburg, who are aiming to reclaim the Bundesliga title after finishing last season without the championship.

The transfer fee is expected to be around five million euros.

Tabakovic is coming off an impressive season on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, where he established himself as one of the team's key players.

He scored 15 goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances, playing a major role in helping Borussia secure Bundesliga survival.

The German club wanted to make the move permanent but were unable to complete the deal due to financial fair play restrictions.

That opened the door for other clubs, with RB Salzburg emerging as the frontrunner to sign the Bosnia and Herzegovina forward.

During his career, Tabakovic has played for clubs in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Hungary, including Hoffenheim, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hertha BSC, Austria Vienna, Grasshopper, Debrecen, Diosgyor, FC Wil and Austria Lustenau.

He enjoyed one of his most prolific spells at Hertha BSC, scoring 25 goals and adding eight assists in 39 appearances. He also impressed at Austria Lustenau, where he scored 46 goals, and at Austria Vienna, where he found the net 21 times.

His club performances earned him a regular place in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Tabakovic has made 11 appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina, scoring four goals, and was part of the squad that reached the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup for the first time in the country's history.

If the transfer is completed, he is expected to lead RB Salzburg's attack next season as the Austrian club looks to regain the domestic title.
