Iran made the stronger start, taking the opening two sets 25-21 and 25-20. Bosnia and Herzegovina responded by winning the third set 25-20, reviving hopes of a comeback.

However, the Bosnian team could not force a deciding set. Led by the outstanding Morteza Mehrzad, Iran claimed the fourth set 25-16, confirming its status as the tournament favorite and securing its ninth World Championship title.

Although they narrowly missed out on gold, Bosnia and Herzegovina continued its remarkable record on the world stage. The silver medal is the country's fourth runner-up finish at the World Championships and its eighth medal in nine appearances at the tournament.

The national team's World Championship collection now includes three gold medals, four silver medals and one bronze medal.

Across all major international competitions, Bosnia and Herzegovina's sitting volleyball team has now won a total of 30 medals.

In addition to its eight World Championship medals, the team has won 15 medals at the European Championships—12 gold, one silver and two bronze—as well as seven medals at the Paralympic Games, including two gold, four silver and one bronze.

By reaching the World Championship final, Bosnia and Herzegovina also secured qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
