Bosnia Armed Forces helicopter joins ongoing battle against wildfire in Jablanica
The battle against the wildfire in the Pisvir area of the Jablanica municipality continues unabated for the second consecutive day, with numerous teams deployed on the ground since early morning making efforts to bring the flames under control. According to information obtained by the Jablanicalive portal, a helicopter from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been conducting aerial drops over the most inaccessible zones of the fire since the early hours, while ground-based firefighting units work continuously to extinguish the blaze in the lower sections of the affected locality.
During the night and morning hours, the fire line moved downward toward the Slatina region, prompting the deployment of human resources across several key points to halt the advancement of the flames.
Footage and photographs from the scene clearly show multiple active fire lines on the slopes above inhabited areas, while the aircraft drops water on one of the most critical points of the fire site.
Based on currently available data, residential houses and buildings are not threatened at this moment. However, the difficult, rugged terrain and the vast surface area covered by fire continue to pose major difficulties for firefighters and all operational services.
