Bosnia's Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic sent letters to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Romania and Poland due to the decision of the Council of Ministers, which did not allow citizens of these countries to vote in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the elections for the European Parliament.
The blocking of the vote was caused by the ministers from the Republika Srpska (RS), considering it part of the response to these countries for voting for the UN Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.
Konakovic wrote, among other things that such a vote by ministers from the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) is not only an attack on people's right to vote in democratic elections but it also demonstrates a destructive intention to harm bilateral relations with important friends and allies of Bosnia on its path to the European Union.
The elections for the European Parliament are scheduled from June 6 to 9.
