Bosnia Presidency Chairman Denis Becirovic said there are officials in the region who spread lies and deceptions, adding that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is one of them.
Speaking on the occasion of the Day of the City of Sarajevo, Becirovic said this was a great day not only for the capital city but for the whole Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“On April 6, 1945 Sarajevo was liberated from the fascist occupation. Sarajevo is the city that survived the longest siege of the modern history of mankind from 1992 to 1995 during the brutal aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it survived. Today it is a modern, European, cosmopolitan city. It is our obligation to preserve the truth about Sarajevo, the truth about the genocide committed in Srebrenica, the truth about the whole Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Becirovic as he laid the wreaths at the Kovaci cemetery.
He then noted that there are officials in the region who do not preserve the truth but spread lies and deceptions.
“One of them is the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic. Over the recent weeks, he has lowered himself to a level below civilisational values, once again denying the genocide committed against Bosniaks in Srebrenica. He shouldn't be doing that. I call on him to accept the judgments of the United Nations courts. This is very important for the future of the entire region. Because not a single resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations can have more force than the final judgments of the courts of the United Nations,” Becirovic said.
