Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency member, Denis Becirovic, held a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca, and ambassadors from EU member states, warning them of what he described as dangerous attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the country’s constitutional order by the leadership of Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

Diplomatic representatives from Germany, France, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Ireland, Bulgaria, Sweden, Romania, Poland, Italy, Greece, Slovakia, Belgium, Finland, Denmark, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Norway (as Bosnia’s NATO contact embassy) attended the meeting.

Becirovic stressed that preserving Bosnia’s constitutional order is essential for maintaining peace and stability. He called for urgent international action to counter unconstitutional moves that could have severe consequences, urging the High Representative to use his Bonn Powers. He also appealed to the EU to take concrete steps to protect Bosnia’s security, including increasing EUFOR troop numbers and deploying reserve forces to key strategic areas.

Additionally, Becirovic announced that, together with Presidency member Zeljko Komsic, he has requested an emergency Presidency session to discuss the political situation following actions by Republika Srpska authorities. He also submitted a request to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to assess the legality of RS laws that allegedly violate the country’s Constitution.
