From the fourteen priorities that the European Commission set before Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have now come to the point where we discuss the country's security, stability and sovereignty, said Chairman of the tripartite Presidency and its Croat member Zeljko Komsic, addressing media after the meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Linhart and commenting on the current political situation in the country. He touched upon the latest statements by Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik, who announced a possibility of Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-dominated region, withdrawing from the state-level institutions and even declaring independence if some sanctions are imposed on that region.

“What Dodik is saying now, in my opinion, is becoming a case for the Prosecutor's Office, I am telling you this as a lawyer. What he is doing means a destruction of BiH's legal system,” he said.

Komsic said he would wait to see what steps the Prosecutor's Office would take, and if nothing happens he would act.

“It is my duty to press charges. Until mister comes to his senses and takes his therapy,” he added.

Sefik Dzaferovic, the Bosniak Presidency member, told media that it is necessary to use all available mechanisms to stabilise the situation in the country.

“I think Dodik is doing pointless work, which cannot bring results that he expects but is taking us all to some sort of destabilisation,” said Dzaferovic and invited Dodik to return to the Presidency for the work on reforms and implementation of the 14 EC's priorities.

As for the meeting with the Austrian minister, Dzaferovic said that Austria strongly supports Bosnia's sovereignty, its territorial integrity, reforms, and the country's EU and NATO paths. “That was clearly said in the meeting today,” he added.

Dodik also addressed the media after the meeting at the Presidency building, denying that he is blocking the institutions.

“The ones who are speaking about the blockades can see that's not the case. Nobody is blocking anything, Mr Komsic recently convened the Presidency session and I was there, and I will attend the next one on Monday. How I vote is another topic,” said Dodik.

He also denied intentions to damage territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina but said there is an intention to “return the sovereignty of Republika Srpska stipulated by the Constitution.”

“That does not mean jeopardising Bosnia and Herzegovina's territorial integrity,” he added.

However, he reiterated the plans to prevent the work of Bosnia's Security Intelligence Agency (OSA) on the territory of Republika Srpska, the entity ruled by his SNSD party.

“We will abolish OSA by end of the month, ban its work on the territory of RS and form our own service,” said Dodik.

He also denied speculations about war in the country.

“Why would there be war? We don't want conflicts, we won't touch anyone who doesn't disturb us,” added Dodik.
