A total of 2,661 persons died in the Western Balkans over the past two weeks as a consequence of the COVID-related complications, according to official data.
Serbia is leading the way with 859 fatalities reported over the November 5-18 period, followed by Croatia and 749 fatalities, and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 463 fatal outcomes during the same period.
Slovenia confirmed 208 COVID deaths in the past two weeks, North Macedonia 196 and Montenegro 106.
Albania is at the bottom of the list with 78 deaths along with Kosovo which reported only two fatalities for the same period.
The Western Balkans region has seen a 25 percent increase in the number of new coronavirus cases, compared to October.
