Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic announced via his official profile on the social media platform X that the Council of Ministers unanimously approved the procurement of helicopters for the country’s Armed Forces.
Konakovic emphasized the importance of decisive action: “In politics, as in sports, one must have the courage to make decisions, to take the winning shot when the pressure is on.”
Although intended for the Armed Forces, these helicopters will not be armed, a condition stipulated by coalition partners from the Republika Srpska entity. Milorad Dodik, the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), confirmed this requirement a few days ago.
As outlined previously, the helicopters will primarily be used for humanitarian missions, rescue operations, and similar non-combat activities.
