Denis Becirovic, the Bosniak member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, warned on the day of the 28th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide and commemoration for victims, that there is a “possibility of the genocide repeating” in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Are there those who work on demilitarisation of BiH while its neighbours are getting armed to the teeth? The answer is yes. Are there those among us who cannot see what kind of a threat is looming over BiH? The answer is yes. The threat of the genocide against Bosniaks repeating is not gone,” said Becirovic.
He also said that an unprecedented attack on the constitutional order of BiH is underway.
“The fundaments of the Dayton Peace Agreement are under attack, the peace process is under attack. The attmept of destroying of BiH is underway,” Becirovic said, calling on all patriots to get together to defend the country.
The remains of another 30 victims have been buried on Tuesday at the Potocari Memorial Centre, with the youngest victim aged 15 at the time of the death and other two juvenile victims aged 16 and 17.
Over 8,000 persons were killed in the genocide, mainly men and boys. To date, the remains of 6,652 have been buried at the Potocari memorial. The remains of 237 have been buried elsewhere according to their families’ wishes.
