On Friday, September 27, the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina (GPBiH) successfully prevented the smuggling of 32 foreign nationals in three separate incidents, the agency announced on Monday.
In the first case, authorities stopped the smuggling of 29 Turkish nationals in the Ljubuški area. A.C. (1984), a Bosnian citizen, was identified as the suspect. Five Turkish nationals were found in a vehicle with Bosnian license plates driven by A.C., while the other 24 were discovered nearby. A.C. was arrested and will be charged with “human smuggling,” while the smuggled individuals were handed over to the Foreigners Affairs Service for deportation.
In another case, officers from the GPBiH Unit in Gradiška apprehended N.B. (1968), a Syrian citizen, for smuggling a Syrian woman hidden in the trunk of a German-registered Audi. N.B. was handed over to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
Additionally, a joint patrol from the GPBiH Gorica Unit and Croatian police stopped the smuggling of two Chinese nationals in Grude. The smuggler, Y.J. (1989), a Chinese citizen driving a Bosnian-registered VW Touran, was arrested and also handed over to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
