Bosnian charity Pomozi.ba opens Goodwill Kitchen in Gaza to feed displaced families

The initiative was funded entirely through donations from citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora. Alongside addressing food insecurity, the central kitchen serves a vital safety function by reducing the need for cooking inside tents, thereby mitigating fire risks and smoke inhalation hazard for displaced families.

A professional team manages food preparation, storage, and distribution in compliance with hygiene standards. Pomozi.ba is running the project alongside partner organisation Hayir Kapilari, with volunteers monitoring operations on the ground daily.

Since October 2023, Pomozi.ba has dispatched over 7 million Bosnian marks (approx. €3.58 million) in aid to Gaza. This relief effort includes more than 50 heavy goods vehicles carrying food, clean water, hygiene products, and medical supplies, as well as monthly financial support for 300 orphans.

To maintain daily operations, Pomozi.ba has appealed for continued public support. Donors in Bosnia and Herzegovina can contribute 2 marks (approx. €1.02) per call by dialling the hotline 17006 across all domestic operators.
