Bosnian minister sends Nazi helmet and abusive letter to High Representative Schmidt

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Stasa Kosarac, a member of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), has committed an inappropriate and scandalous act by sending a Nazi-era helmet to the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt. The accompanying letter reportedly contained a series of insults and language deemed unbecoming of a high-ranking official.

According to the Srna news agency, Kosarac titled the correspondence "Letter to the Occupier," in which he accused Schmidt of being a follower of Nazi ideology and Hitler. The highly offensive message also allegedly involved Schmidt's family.

Kosarac's text invoked the rhetoric of the Second World War, specifically mentioning the victims from the Serb people, a common political tactic used by politicians in public forums over the last several years.

The Minister also explicitly told Schmidt that it was "time for him to leave this country because only then would this country have a chance." He further stated: "The people in this country should decide their own destiny, without you."

Throughout the entire letter, Kosarac reportedly failed to address Schmidt with the formal respect (using the formal 'you') mandated by diplomatic protocol when corresponding with officials.
