Bosnian ministers, NATO's Stoltenberg discuss improvement of cooperation

Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to fully implement its current Reform Programme and deliver the next one for this year as soon as possible, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told Bosnian foreign and defence ministers who attended the NATO North Atlantic Council meeting in Brussels on Wednesday.

Foreign minister Bisera Turkovic and defence minister Sifet Podzic met Stoltenberg prior to the NATO NAC session, informing him about the current status of cooperation between BiH and NATO and discussing the possibilities to improve that cooperation in the upcoming period.

Stoltenberg praised Bosnia's participation in NATO-led missions and the country's commitment to strengthen the operational partnership with NATO.

The ministers thanked Stoltenberg for the support that the alliance provides to BiH, especially during pandemic through the NATO EADRCC mechanism and Trust Fund.

Turkovic and Podzic also spoke at the NATO NAC meeting, where they presented the current situation in BiH, with a special focus on BiH-NATO cooperation through the Reform Programme. The representatives of NATO member states unanimously supported Bosnia's Euro-Atlantic path and next steps within the Membership Action Plan (MAP), according to the statement issued by BiH Defence Ministry.
