Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chair Zeljka Cvijanovic sent her congratulations to Croatian President Zoran Milanovic on his victory in Sunday's presidential runoff even before the final results were announced, as did the Bosniak member of the state leadership, Denis Becirovic.

After the preliminary results were announced, showing Milanovic's convincing victory over Dragan Primorac, Cvijanovic expressed hope that during Milanovic's new term, relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia would be based on mutual respect and understanding. She also expressed the wish that both countries would focus on issues of shared interest for the benefit of all citizens.

“You will have a reliable partner and interlocutor in me when it comes to developing political dialogue and constructive cooperation in various areas,” Cvijanovic wrote in her message to the Croatian president.

Bećirovic's office stated that he congratulated Milanovic via a telephone call.

Becirovic emphasised the importance of relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, expressing hope that those relations and cooperation between the two countries would develop in the spirit of good-neighbourly relations and mutual understanding.

On the social media platform X, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik congratulated Milanovic shortly after the announcement of the preliminary election results.

The Bosnian Serb leader expressed confidence that Milanovic, “with his rich political experience and knowledge, will continue to make decisions in the interest of peace, stability, and further prosperity of Croatia, and that these decisions will positively impact relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

“I believe that he will continue the policy of respecting the Dayton Peace Agreement, and continue building relations with the constituent peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of those principles,” Dodik wrote.
