Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina has asked police agencies in the country to deliver all available information about Mirnesa Beslic, German national who is allegedly of Bosnian origin and is suspected of stealing more than a million euro in cash from a Stuttgart-based money transfer company in October last year.
This means that Beslic, also known as Mirnesa S, is a subject of an Interpol warrant.
Since the suspect is a German national, she would have to undergo border controls while both entering and leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina. All police officers on Bosnian border crossings have direct access to the Interpol database.
N1 unofficially learns that border police did not register Beslic's entry or exit to and from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
German police have been looking for the 42-year-old woman for months, and as of Christmas she is among the wanted persons. There is still no indication about her whereabouts.
According to German media, the suspect started working at the money transfer company in spring last year, and has allegedly planned the robbery since then. Although she worked as a phone operator, she helped with operations that included work with money. Namely, after the money was delivered to the company, they would unpack it, put it in security cassettes, and it was then transported to the bank.
A police source said then that they believe she left Germany and fled abroad. According to German law, Beslic is faced with at least ten years in prison for this crime.
