The cabinet of the head of the Bosnian government Zoran Tegeltija said it expected from the US ambassador to the UN and other permanent member states to enable his address at the UN Security Council session on Bosnia and Herzegovina, taking place on Wednesday.

The statement comes after Bosnia Presidency Chairman Sefik Dzaferovic arrived in New York, which put him the first in line to speak at the session, considering their ranks in the hierarchy.

“This request comes after the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the UN refused to send an official note to the US Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, for the address of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers at the Security Council session,” Tegeltija's cabinet said, adding that the Bosnian Mission is clearly involved in an “obstruction of the participation of Chairman Tegeltija in the session” and in disabling him to speak about “real situation” in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the problems it is facing.

Dzaferovic is set to address the session, which will discuss the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. CET.

Also, international peace envoy in BiH, High Representative Christian Schmidt, will present his biannual report on Bosnia and Herzegovina, but his address remains uncertain due to possible objections from Russia.

Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik assessed Dzaferovic's address at the UN SC as “a private speech” because, as he noted, the Presidency did not reach consent on it.
