Bosnia’s Defence Minister Zukan Helez announced via his official Facebook profile that he has ordered an increase in the readiness level of the country’s Armed Forces in response to recent security threats.
“Unfortunately, we are witnessing the escalation of conflicts in both the Middle East and Ukraine. Given the potential impact on Bosnia and Herzegovina, I have ordered heightened security measures for the facilities of commands, units, and other locations within the Armed Forces of BiH, including weapon and ammunition depots. This is to ensure the protection of personnel, infrastructure, and material resources of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Helez stated.
“These measures are purely precautionary and will remain in effect until further notice. Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina should remain calm; the security situation in our country is stable, and no indications or evidence suggest it will be disrupted. The increased security measures apply solely to military facilities.”
The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have raised security levels at military installations nationwide following threatening reports received yesterday at 3 p.m.
