Messages from Thursday’s session of the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assembly are a cause for concern and a serious threat to peace and constitutional order, which brings unrest among the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including members of the Islamic Community, the Islamic Community in BiH warned on Friday.

“The blackmailing attitudes have clearly exposed the separatist intentions and the real policy of the government representatives in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, said the Islamic Community statement.

The Community expressed their concern with the repeated denial of the genocide in Srebrenica and the outpouring of hatred, insults and Islamophobia by the representatives of the ruling coalition in the RS entity.

“The publicly stated assertion of the President of the RS entity that ‘Muslims’ can live on 25 percent of the territory is a repeated call to the so-called ethnic cleansing and the final realization of the genocidal intent to destroy the entire nation in the part of the territory where it has always lived. Associating individuals who have nothing to do with official religious institutions and labelling them as radical religious figures, which the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina did in her presentation, is just a continuation of the hate-blinded malicious propaganda campaign that has been trying to present Bosniaks as radicals, for years,” the IC said in their latest statement.

They added that this campaign was foreseen a long time ago and that not only did it not produce results, but it brought the RS entity into even greater international isolation, and threatens to damage the already fragile relations between peoples and religious communities.

“All domestic and international actors should take the threats made in the RS Assembly seriously and make sure that no adventurism is allowed that would undermine peace and stability or endanger the surviving genocide victims, again,” Bosnia’s Islamic Community concluded in their statement, Mina news agency reported.
