Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Chair of the Commission for Cooperation with NATO Josip Brkic met on Tuesday with the new commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Matthew Valas.
Brkic welcomed Commander Valas and wished for success in his future work, welcoming NATO's decision to develop a new defence building capacity package (DBC) for BiH, stressing that it is very important for the country's strengthening of defence capabilities, resilience and interoperability with NATO.
Deputy Brkic informed Brigadier General Valas about the preparations for the organization of the NATO Partnership 360 symposium planned for November 2024 in Sarajevo, which will gather some 300 participants, which has a global character, and where allies, partner countries and international organizations will discuss common security and other challenges facing these societies.
The new NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo commander, Brigadier General Matthew Valas, pointed out that he is ready to work with a team of dedicated and experienced multinational experts working tirelessly to increase the institutional capacities of defence and the capabilities of the Armed Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other partners in the state institutions in order to improve the lives of all citizens ultimately.
