Cvrsnica wildfire continues to spread, aerial firefighting needed

"Given today’s weather forecast, including stronger winds, and the difficult-to-access terrain, which is completely inaccessible in most parts of the fire area, the deployment of aerial firefighting assets is still needed," the center warned.

Members of the Jablanica Professional Firefighting Unit and Volunteer Fire Department, as well as firefighters from Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and neighboring cantons, were engaged in firefighting efforts yesterday.

Canadair aircraft from Croatia are also assisting with the firefighting operation.
