The President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, said that the decision on all processes and further developments of BiH can be made "only by elected representatives of the people who have legitimacy for such a thing,” adding that "D-Day will be if someone dares to cross the line and realize the scenario by which space is opened for him to impose something". Dodik stated this in response to the High Representative's announcements about the final deadline for an agreement regarding changes to the BiH Election Law. Pročitaj više

Dodik said that in all its previous actions, the RS “gave a clear answer and is ready for that ‘D-Day’ that Christian Schmidt talks about.”

In an address on the X network, Dodik said that the RS’ intentions are clear – “it wants to preserve the Dayton BiH and the Constitution of BiH, but if they continue with the dissolution of Dayton, they will get an independent Republika Srpska and a disintegrated dysfunctional Federation (FBiH).”

“That is our answer to all those who threaten to attack the RS,” Dodik added.

He once again called Bosniak political representatives as “political Muslims”.

“The problem we have and which has been going on since the constitution of the Government is that political Muslims do not have the capacity for independent decision-making or any negotiations. Their subordination to the foreigners who appointed them leads to the fact that the agreements are not respected and that we seriously doubt their determination for BiH to move forward,” he wrote. “In the same way, these parties from Sarajevo want to join the EU, and in their actions, they are leading us further and further away from that path – so far that some unnamed foreigner is talking about how the meeting of political leaders, which should be a normal course for agreements and solving all issues, is the ‘D-day’.”

He also said that he would not allow “the Americans and the British to suspend both law and justice.”

“We will not allow the Americans and the British to suspend law and justice. Anyone who doubts our words should re-read the Dayton Agreement, the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the UN Charter. Our rights and the opportunities available to us are defined by law and we are ready to use them,” Dodik emphasized.

High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt said that he will give the leaders of the ruling parties another chance to agree on changes to the Electoral Law, and if this does not happen, he will intervene with changes called ‘the integrity of the electoral process’.

In the latter part of December, Schmidt announced that he would impose changes to electoral regulations to ensure fair elections if no domestic agreement was reached on the issue in the next three to four weeks.

Schmidt told Vecernji list daily that these changes must contribute to “the elections being legally secure so that BiH meets the Copenhagen criteria” without which it is not possible to become a member of the European Union.

He revealed that leading politicians will gather by the end of the week, which, according to him, is the D-Day.
