The President of Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, has once again accused the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina of being unconstitutional institutions, claiming that their actions represent a political attack on the RS.

“There is a complete misuse of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which are unconstitutional categories. It is truly cynical that they are trying to claim that someone is undermining the constitutional order when they themselves are not mentioned in the Constitution. This is a ‘Muslim’ scheme against Serb national interests and Republika Srpska,” Dodik said during a conversation with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RSNA), Nenad Stevandic.

Dodik further stated that resisting the Court and its alleged misuse is the last line of defence in this confrontation.

“That is their last resort in this confrontation, and we must continue to fight against such an unconstitutional court and its abuse. On the other hand, no law contains any criminal offence for which they are attempting to prosecute you, me, the Prime Minister, and several ministers,” he said.

Republika Srpska will continue implementing its laws

Dodik reaffirmed that Republika Srpska will persist in enforcing the laws adopted by its institutions, accusing Sarajevo of trying to create conflict over this issue.
“I know you have been away and had personal matters to attend to, but it was important for us to be here. I must say that you have been following the situation in ‘Srpska’. We will continue to implement the policies adopted by the RSNA,” Dodik told Stevandic.

Drawing comparisons with past political persecutions, Dodik claimed that prominent Serbs have historically been targeted.

“This happened even during the former Yugoslavia and the communist regime. Those in Sarajevo have always tried to go after individuals they deemed a threat at any given time. We have no alternative. I believe the policy pursued by the RSNA is the right one, and tomorrow we already have scheduled activities,” Dodik added.

Dodik criticizes Schmidt

Dodik also stated that the institutions of Republika Srpska will maintain peace and stability while continuing to enforce RS laws.

“Many were saying a week ago that something drastic would happen, but nothing did. We will continue with our work,” Dodik said during his meeting with Stevandic.
Once again, he labelled High Representative Christian Schmidt as “illegitimate” and accused him of unlawfully prosecuting RS officials.

“What we are being persecuted for is something he wrote into his own decision. Nowhere in the world does someone get prosecuted based on a decision like that. There is no classification of a criminal offence. Even our lawyers were not allowed to attend so they could determine pretrial detention. All of this shows how nervous they are,” Dodik asserted.
