In the trial against the President of Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, the key witness will be Christian Schmidt, the High Representative in BiH, and we will invite him to testify, said a member of the Dodik’s defence team and high-profile Croatian lawyer, Anto Nobilo.

“Schmidt will have to explain before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina who appointed him and to whom they gave the authority. He will be a very important witness for us,” said Nobilo.

He stated that the defence has the right to prove that Schmidt does not have the authority because Schmidt is “involved” in the indictment. He said that those who created this process have miscalculated. The lawyer noted that they gave Dodik a great platform as a political opponent.

“He can now start with sovereignist politics. This may be the beginning of the dismantling of the High Representative. Bosnia and Herzegovina is also dysfunctional because they did not allow the people to agree on how to live through their elected representatives. Both in the political sense and in any other sense, this trial will return to those who initiated it,” said Nobilo.

When asked what if Schmidt does not want to testify, Nobilo said that a witness who refuses to testify can be taken into custody.

He said that it is completely clear that this is a rigged political trial against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik “with only one goal – to permanently eliminate Dodik from the political scene,” said Nobilo.
