The conversation in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Turkish Ministry of Defence Hulusi Akar once again confirmed that the Republic of Turkey is a true friend of BiH and that the Turkish government is monitoring events in the country very closely and with great interest, said BiH Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic after the Monday meeting.

“Turkey uncompromisingly supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity and state institutions of BiH. As a member of the Peace Implementation Council, Turkey makes an outstanding contribution to the implementation of the Dayton Agreement and supports the reform results achieved in the 26 years of the Dayton implementation. Also, Turkey supports our EU and NATO path. It is very important for BiH and our Armed Forces to continue cooperation with Turkey in the defence sector and the arms industry,” said Dzaferovic, adding that they discussed various aspects of cooperation between the BiH Armed Forces and the Turkish Armed Forces.

According to Dzaferovic, thanks to the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Republic of Turkey is pursuing an extremely wise policy in the region, contributing to stability and economic development.

“Thanks to President Erdogan's approach, Turkey has gained the trust of everyone in BiH, supports all parts of BiH and all peoples, and is building good relations, insisting on cooperation and common interests. It is very important for BiH to have that kind of impulse that has a cohesive and stabilizing effect, “Dzaferovic said.

Today, the Chairman of BiH Presidency, Zeljko Komsic, and the members of the Presidency, Sefik Dzaferovic and Milorad Dodik, received the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Turkey, Hulusi Akar in the Presidency building.
