The Central Election Commission (CIK) of Bosnia and Herzegovina has officially approved the SDS-Volja Naroda (Will of the People) to participate in the upcoming local elections.

This decision was made unanimously and without any debate.

It's worth recalling that in a recent session, CIK had initially refused to certify the Serb Democratic Party for election participation due to issues related to campaign financing. The campaign account, given the sanctions against SDS, had been opened by an individual, but CIK did not accept this arrangement.

The issue stems from the fact that SDS, as a party, is unable to open the account themselves because banks refuse to do so due to the longstanding US sanctions imposed on the party for the past 20 years.

Even after two decades of sanctions, the bank has also closed the party’s account used for daily operations.
