Electricity, coal and lignite production down in FBiH in March, no coke production

In the total gross electricity production, hydropower plants accounted for 52.2 percent, thermal power plants for 40.0 percent, and wind power plants for 7.8 percent.

Brown coal production in the Federation of BiH in March 2026 amounted to 222,825 tonnes, while in the same month of 2025 it was 292,008 tonnes.

Lignite production in March 2026 totaled 104,201 tonnes, compared to 117,201 tonnes in March 2025.

Coke production in March 2026 was zero tonnes, compared to 35,322 tonnes in March 2025.

Imports of petroleum products in March 2026 amounted to 103,868 tonnes, compared to 101,210 tonnes in the same month of 2025. Of the total imports, diesel fuel accounted for 75.2 percent, unleaded motor gasoline for 12.1 percent, fuel oil and extra light heating oil for 5.3 percent, and other petroleum products for 7.4 percent, according to data from the FBiH Bureau of Statistics.
