EU Delegation in BiH supports coalition agreement in Istocno Sarajevo

The European Union Delegation in BiH welcomed the agreement signed Tuesday in Istocno Sarajevo by the leaders of the state-level coalition parties and the adoption of important legislation regarding Bosnia’s EU accession process.

“An important step has been taken, but it will also need a follow-up. The reforms required to join the EU bring concrete benefits for every BiH citizen. We encourage BiH's political leaders to build on the current momentum and take further necessary steps to bring BiH closer to EU”, the Delegation posted on X (former Twitter).

We welcome the agreement signed today by state level coalition party leaders, & adoption of important EU-accession related legislation in BiH HoR. It is positive that BiH political leaders have shown political will to work together on reforms. [1]

They noted that amendments to the Law on High Judaical and Prosecutorial Council are a good step towards fulfilling the EU recommendation on integrity checks for the judiciary.

“We expect adoption to be completed without delay as well as the effective implementation of this key reform,” the EU Delegation to BiH concluded.
