FBiH electricity production rises to 534 GWh in September, coal output declines

Hydropower plants accounted for 31.5 percent of total gross electricity production, thermal power plants for 59.9 percent, and wind power plants for 8.6 percent.

Brown coal production in the FBiH totaled 216,984 metric tons in September 2026, compared with 322,292 metric tons in the same month of 2025.

Lignite production in the FBiH amounted to 104,516 metric tons in September 2026, compared with 131,720 metric tons in September 2025.

No coke was produced in the FBiH in September this year, while 24,693 metric tons were produced in September 2025.

Imports of petroleum products totaled 128,552 metric tons in September 2026, compared with 123,864 metric tons in the same month of 2025.

Of total imports in September, diesel fuel accounted for 72.1 percent, unleaded motor gasoline for 13.1 percent, heavy fuel oil and extra-light heating oil for 6.0 percent, and other petroleum products for 8.8 percent, according to data from the FBiH Institute of Statistics.
