FERK sets January 2026 replacement market price and approves new energy licenses

The Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERK) held a regular session where it officially determined the replacement market price for electricity for January 2026 at 22.2664 feninga/kWh. This specific price is intended for privileged electricity producers from renewable sources who have secured incentives through the FIP auction process for large facilities. These producers will sell their electricity to the Operator for OIEiEK at this rate until an organized day-ahead electricity market is fully established.

In addition to price setting, FERK issued a license for electricity generation to the company "UNION-COMERC-CO" d.o.o. Zenica for its "UNION 1" solar power plant, which has an installed capacity of 1,500 kW in the Mutnicko polje area of Zenica. The commission also processed six requests for qualified producer status, granting approval for five solar power plants owned by MIM ENERGIJA d.o.o. from Citluk and one solar facility owned by "BROTIS" d.o.o. Citluk.
The session further included the adoption of draft licenses for "D-ENERGIJA" d.o.o. Zenica regarding the "Kaljani" and "Cemernica" hydroelectric plants, as well as a draft license for electricity supply and trade for Alpiq Energija BH d.o.o. Sarajevo. A public discussion period for these drafts is open until January 8, 2026, at 12 pm, allowing interested parties to submit written comments via post or email. Finally, FERK addressed several disputes and appeals related to the two regional power utilities, resulting in the adoption of one formal decision and one conclusion.
