A doctor on the Serbian government crisis response team confirmed the first case of the omicron coronavirus variant in the country on Thursday.
Dr Tanja Jovanovic said that the omicron variant was confirmed in a patient who arrived in Serbia from Botswana. The doctor said that the woman tested negative when she entered Serbia.
“We are monitoring and controlling the situation,” Jovanovic said.
