The Municipal Court in Sarajevo found former Sarajevo Canton (KS) minister Amela Dautbegovic guilty of abuse of position or authority and she was sentenced in a first-instance verdict to two years and six months in prison.

Prosecutors said that the former Minister for Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees Dautbegovic, during June and July 2018, refused to forward the decision of the Management Board of the Cantonal Public Institution Gerontological Center on the appointment of Ismet Skoka as director, although the decision was made after a legally conducted competition procedure.

The court determined that she verbally and in writing ordered the management board to cancel its decision, which prevented Ismet Skoko from taking over the post.
