Goran Selak clears vetting process for Bosnia’s Security Minister post
Goran Selak, leader of the Socialist Party of Republika Srpska (SPS) and a current councilor in the Banja Luka City Assembly, has successfully passed background checks conducted by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and the Central Election Commission (CEC). The vetting process was part of the procedure for his proposed appointment as Bosnia’s new Minister of Security.

In accordance with the Law on the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it has been confirmed that Selak meets all legal requirements, with no obstacles preventing his appointment.
Commenting on the development, Selak told Nezavisne novine that he was a nominee from Republika Srpska entity.
"All legal procedures have been observed and now the appointment depends on political agreements at the Bosnia and Herzegovina level”, Selak stated.
Selak has 20 years of experience in the criminal justice system, including five years as the head of the Banja Luka Correctional Facility. In the previous session of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, he served as an MP and deputy chairman of the Security Committee.
