High Representative Christian Schmidt addressed the media ahead of the verdict that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will hand down in the case against the president of BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity Milorad Dodik and the Director of the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska, Milos Lukic.

Schmidt expressed his support for BiH's judicial institutions.
“Today, I am speaking as the Chair of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC). Ambassadors of the Peace Implementation Council’s Steering Board discussed the proceedings against Dodik and Lukic. The Steering Board members welcomed the recent OSCE statement in BiH and called for restraint from political threats and respect for judicial institutions. They reaffirmed their unequivocal commitment to BiH’s territorial integrity as a single, sovereign state,” he said.

Schmidt also delivered a personal message to all citizens of BiH.

“I know that many of you are genuinely concerned about the developments here. Rest assured, the international community is vigilant and on alert. The Dayton framework and state institutions are protected and must be respected. The international community remains committed to peace and stability. Bosnia and Herzegovina is non-negotiable. BiH will continue advancing on its European path. I know that the citizens of this country understand that vision very well, and they will have support along the way,” Schmidt stated.
