Bosnia's northwestern city of Bihac joined other cities in the country and the region to raise the voice against killing of innocent Palestinian people, especially children. One of the main messages conveyed from the rally held on Thursday was 'Let's save the human race'. Pročitaj više

Hundreds gathered on a central square led mostly by young people, along with representatives of authorities, demanding that the international community prevent crimes against Palestinians in Gaza, deliver humanitarian aid, and launch a comprehensive investigation against the killing of civilians.

In solidarity with the people of Palestine, the rally organisers – the ‘Horizont’ association and charity ‘Pomozi.ba’ – put up the flags of that country across the city – the largest one in the city centre.

Bihac authorities said there was no doubt what side they took.

“The message we sent can only mean we all together took the side of the peace, the side of the innocent lives and advocating the peace on the territory of Gaza, for the people of Palestine,” said Bihac Mayor Elvedin Sedic.

Mustafa Ruznic, the prime minister of the Una-Sana Canton, joined the call for peace.

“We are sending the clear message that we support the peace, but also a clear demand that silence must stop. That destroying of all aspects of humanity must stop,” he underlined.

The rallies of support for civilians of Palestine were previously held in the capital Sarajevo and Tuzla, the third largest city in BiH. The authorities of the southern city of Mostar said they would ban both pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian rallies.
