Inspectors from the Foreigners' Affairs Service conducted an operation in the Ilidza municipality, specifically in the Pejton neighborhood, on Bosanskih Gazija Street, where they inspected residential buildings illegally used to house migrants.
During the inspection, a total of 50 migrants were found illegally occupying the properties. Following standard procedures, they were transferred to temporary reception centers in Blazuj and Usivak, according to a statement from the Foreigners’ Affairs Service.
In addition, the Service issued an expulsion order for a Syrian national, identified as A.S., who is suspected of organizing the illegal housing of migrants and violating the regulations of the Law on Foreigners. The individual was placed under supervision at the Immigration Center in East Sarajevo.
The inspection also uncovered a significant number of travel documents and other papers, which have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
The Foreigners’ Affairs Service emphasized that it will continue to carry out measures and activities under its jurisdiction to prevent the illegal use of residential properties for migrant accommodation, thereby contributing to enhanced security across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
