
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has declared July 11, 2025, the Day of Remembrance for the Srebrenica Genocide, an official Day of Mourning in the Federation.
The decision was adopted during an emergency session and requires the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be flown at half-mast on all buildings of legislative, executive, and judicial authorities, public institutions, and other legal entities across the Federation.
On this day, public events of an entertainment or celebratory nature are prohibited. Media outlets operating in the Federation are required to adjust their programming to reflect the observance of mourning.
The decision takes effect immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the government’s statement, the measure is intended to express condolences and solidarity with the families of the victims and to honour the memory of those killed in the Srebrenica genocide.
