Bosnia Presidency member Zeljko Komsic opened his election campaign Sunday evening and presented a political initiative called a 'million people for the civic Bosnia and Herzegovina'.
Komsic, who is a joint candidate of his Democratic Front and Civic Alliance for the Presidency in the October elections, said that the idea of the civic state is not the political parties’ ownership but the collective good.
He called on all political, social, non-governmental and academic forces to give their contribution to the petition and collect a million signatures for the civic Bosnia and Herzegovina within six months after the government is formed.
According to Komsic, the political parties agreed in a recent meeting in Brussels to resume negotiations on the constitutional order of the state half a year after the government formation.
“This is why we are trying to determine common principles and rules. We want to say it clearly to the European Union and other friendly countries that there is no civic state without implementation of the European courts’ decisions. And we want to show that the civic state is the will of the majority of citizens,” said Komsic, presenting the coalition's election campaign.
International lobbying for the interest of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also among the coalition's top goals, for which the cantonal and Federation entity's budgets will allocate one percent each every year, Komsic also said.
