Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister, Elmedin Konakovic, met on Wednesday in Warsaw with Polish President Andrzej Duda. Both officials expressed satisfaction with the strong, friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland, noting an absence of unresolved issues.
They shared optimism about further strengthening bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit.
Minister Konakovic updated President Duda on the current political landscape in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the nation’s reform efforts and progress along its European integration path. He highlighted the European Council’s recent decision to open EU accession talks with Bosnia this past March and underscored the economic benefits of European integration, particularly in trade and investment opportunities.
Konakovic also thanked Poland for its ongoing support of Bosnia's EU and NATO aspirations and extended special gratitude for Poland's role in co-sponsoring the UN resolution on the International Day of Remembrance for the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide.
President Duda expressed the importance of deepening economic ties between the two countries, emphasizing the role of honorary consulates in Poznan, Szczecin, Białystok, and Mostar in enhancing this partnership.
