
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic met with Majed Maarouf, President of the Palestinian Community in BiH, to discuss the rights and status of Palestinians living in BiH and the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Maarouf thanked BiH for its continued support in international forums and through humanitarian efforts, highlighting the Palestinian community’s long-standing integration into BiH society. He stressed that solidarity during the ongoing crisis is essential.
Minister Konakovic reiterated BiH’s commitment to human rights and international humanitarian law, calling for an immediate end to the violence in Gaza and a peaceful resolution to the conflict. He also emphasised the importance of coordinating with international partners to ensure the evacuation of civilians and the delivery of aid.
The two also discussed logistical and diplomatic challenges related to potential evacuations of Palestinians with ties to BiH currently in conflict zones.
Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation and maintain open dialogue to support integration, equal rights, and dignified living conditions for the Palestinian community in BiH.
Konakovic reaffirmed BiH’s principled stance in supporting all peoples seeking peace, dignity, and freedom under international law.
